One is taught by experience to put a premium on those few people who can appreciate you for what you are. - Gail Godwin

Welcome Guests!

On behalf of all the members of the Noontime Nomads Toastmasters Club, we would like to welcome you as our guest.

Our Group is Committed to Developing Communication and Leadership Skills

If you are looking for a high-energy diverse professional group comprised of individuals committed to developing their communication and leadership skills, then The Noontime Nomads Toastmaster group is your kind of place!

Each Member Travels along his or her own course of development

In this diverse group of 25 to 30 professionals, the common thread is the desire and commitment to improve public speaking and leadership skills. Using the TM international plan, each member is traveling along his or her own course of development. Some members are very new and have only one or two speeches under their belt. Others have been members for years and are continuing to improve their already stellar presentations.

The Environment Encourages Gentle Evaluations

Many are well on their way to developing their leadership skills by holding club offices. No matter what amount of experience, all members of this positive and enthusiastic group heartily support one another in an environment of encourage and gentle evaluation.

Noontime Nomads are Supportive

The purpose of our Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment where every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills. These skills in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

Come join our Atmosphere of Learning

Our club meets every Wednesday, from noon to 1:00 PM, at the Tigard Public Library at 13500 SW Hall Blvd. Tigard, OR 97223. Our alternate location is the WestView Plaza in suite 200. Please contact us prior to attending to make certain of our location that day. At every meeting, we try to create an atmosphere of learning, support and enjoyment. We have fun while we improve ourselves.

Each Toastmaster meeting is divided into three parts:

  • Impromptu Speaking gives everyone the opportunity to express themselves on a subject with minimal preparation time. We learn to “think on our feet.”

  • Formal Speeches are prepared talks from the Toastmasters manual. We normally have two or three formal speeches at each meeting.

  • Evaluations provide instant feedback. An Evaluator analyzes speech content and presentation. These evaluations are perhaps the most important part of the meeting. They help us improve and grow.

We welcome you to observe any meeting as our guest, invite you to ask questions and most of all enjoy yourself!
